➡️ Présentez vous et expliquez nous ce vous faites au sein de votre organisation pour faire avancer la transition ?
I am the Associate Dean for Sustainability Transition at ESCP Business School, where I am also a professor in the sustainability department. My role for the next three years is to continue the integration of sustainability into the school strategy across the domains of teaching, research, programmes and campus operations, meaning moving the whole school towards a greater level of sustainability. This means mobilising the ESCP community of students, faculty, staff, alumni and even our local communities.

The sustainable development goals show the interconnectedness and dependency between different elements of sustainability across environmental and social dimensions. We include these elements in our teaching across all our different programmes including social impact and entrepreneurship, or circular economy and green finance on the environmental side. Research across the school often links to different SDGs with papers that focus on a specific challenge whether it’s climate, gender, and so on. In general the SDGs provide a useful guideline on our actions, and provide our faculty multiple opportunities to address sustainability across the full scope. We try to raise awareness on the interconnectness and dependencies between the SDGs so that students and staff can think of the trade-offs and also synergies between them.
➡️ Selon vous qu’est ce qu’une planification écologique réussie pour la France et pour l’Europe ?
Europe, and de facto France, have ambitious goals when it comes to ecological transition. Creating a level playing field for business is key, whether that is restrictive regulation or fiscal measures to control carbon emissions. Yet business can play a much greater role in finding solutions through innovation. Incentives for the right innovations will be key however and public actors have a big role in picking the winners, especially if these winners are creating a benefit for society.
➡️ Si vous aviez une recommandation à faire formuler à la Première ministre chargée de la planification écologique, quel message lui feriez-vous passer ?
Il est essentiel de ne pas sous-estimer l’importance de la formation à la science, et aux ramifications sociétales de ces grands bouleversements. La formation présente, en effet, un enjeux considérable et reste encore trop peu abordée dans le cadre des grands rendez-vous sur l’environnement , telles que les COP. La formation aux enjeux de transition écologique et sociale doit se développer sous toutes ses formes : initiale, secondaire et continue. Pr. Joe MIEMCZYK
Il faut, par ailleurs, évoquer les enjeux de durabilité dans leur ensemble, y compris ceux qui vont profondément impacter nos modes de vie actuels, comme les relations énergie/climat, ressources naturelles/Gaz à effet de serre/croissance, afin de prendre en compte tous les paramètres de la transformation qui s’annonce.
Dernier point essentiel, il faut impérativement envisager le monde de demain. Ce ne sera pas la fin DU monde, mais la fin D’UN monde auquel il est nécessaire de s’y préparer, ce qui passera à la fois par l'atténuation des impacts et l’adaptation de nos systèmes.
